Donkey Punch Review
62
In keeping with my trend of reviewing the horror films that are sort of off the beaten path, I decided to watch an interesting flick called “Donkey Punch” last night. If you are familiar with what a Donkey Punch is…then you would think it has something to do with a brutal sex act. Well, you would be right!
The movie is about three girls on holiday or vacation as we say here in the states, in Greece who meet a group of attractive men in a bar and decide to take a ride on their yacht. The Yacht is not actually theirs; they are the crew for the owner of the yacht who is some millionaire who really isn’t mentioned too often in the movie.
Before I go any farther, this is going to be a fairly short review because if I explain too much, it will give the whole movie away. There isn’t too many details that I can comment on because it is a pretty basic story that revolves around emotions and circumstances of the people on board the yacht.
The beginning of the movie is dreadfully boring because we watch the girls get ready to go out, talk about how one of them is has broken up with her boyfriend and how this time away is just for the three girls to get away and be together without drama. I have heard it all before in dozens of horror films that girls are being massacred. Next scene they are at a bar, drinking, acting like tourists and they meet a group of guys who lure them to the beach to drink some more.
Two girls are interested in the guys while the girl who going through the breakup isn’t keen on the idea of spending too much time with these individuals. Right off the bat you know who each person is, the slut, the party girl, the prude, the asshole, the naive guy and the charmer, no big surprises throughout the whole movie as character development is concerned. You also know who is going to live and who is going to die throughout the movie which…ehh, whatever.
The guys invited the girls onto their boss’s yacht for drinks and partying and they almost immediately agree…well two of them do at least. The guys talk amongst each other on how their “plan” is working to get them on the boat which flies over the girls heads…typical for this type of movie. Yes the guys want to bang them…no big surprise there.
Here is where I stop going into detail about the movie, they all take the boat out into the ocean and consume massive amounts of alcohol, drugs, get naked, have sex and film the whole thing on a camcorder. The sex act mentioned in the title of the movie occurs and one of the girls is dead. The rest of the movie is about the remaining girls and guys trying to figure out what to do while turning on each other. There is betrayal, death and desperation through the duration of the film. I would say the main selling point for this movie is the suspense on when something horrible is going to happen rather than any sort of scare tactics other horror films have been going for lately.
This wasn’t the greatest movie I have ever seen, but it kept me interested and wanting to see what happened next. The gore is pretty minimal but there is a pretty good scene where someone is chewed up by an outboard motor and another is burned up by a flare, that’s always nice. There really isn’t a surprise ending like I figured there would be, but overall it is a pretty cool story. Also, when do you get to see a movie called “Donkey Punch” that is actually about the said sex act? Nowhere. I think they are planning a sequel called “Dirty Sanchez” or maybe it is called “The Spouting Whale.”

I know of the Dirty Sanchez but I must Google the Spouting Whale and Donkey Punch. Damn -- I need to keep up to date on my sex slang!
I'm an old guy so this is not my style, but whoever likes it go for it.
Okay, I dont know what donkey punch is either. I have to google this, but not while Im at work... Im afraid of what might come up. lol.
The movie is awesome! The review should be about the movie not the trailer!!!
